Introduction

Plans Motorsport specialise in catering for mid engined sports cars including the Lotus Elise, Vauxhall VX220, Honda NSX and Noble.

The best improvements one can make to enhance a sports car's performance on the road and track is not by increasing the power of the engine but by improving the ride and handling. We specialise in this area and, like with everything we do, the improvements we make can be tested on-site.

The most basic improvement that can be made, even to a standard car, is to ensure that the suspension system is straight, not worn and correctly set up. Also, after fitting any Ohlins or Nitron upgrades to the suspension, the set-up will need to be tuned to take best advantage of the new components and to the individual driver. 	The Lotus standard springs and dampers have been optimised for normal road use. Nitron damper kits are an excellent upgrade allowing adjustment in ride height and stiffness. These kits are excellently engineered and come complete with springs. We can advise on suitable settings/spring rates depending on your driving style and the ratio of road/track driving.
	We also can supply and fit Nitron suspension kits for Noble, TVR, Caterham, Radical and Westfield

	For the serious track day driver or racer Nitron also produce the NTX-R series, featuring either two way (bump and rebound) or three way (Slow Bump, fast bump and rebound) to allow the driver to tune the dampers to each particular circuit. These kits have remote reservoirs for improved damper performance.

	We are now able to offer the Ohlins Road And Track upgrade as fitted as an option to the Exige S2. They offer enhanced ride quality, with two-way adjustment to suit driver and conditions. These are exactly the same as the Original Equipment option at an attractive price.

	Ohlins 46mm "Plans" Suspension Upgrade

	We have now fully developed this kit for the Vauxhall VX, Elise and Exige S1 and S2. We consider this to be the best available damper for enthusiastic track use and superb ride quality on the road. These dampers a based on the GT-spec Ohlins product and have been fully tested and optimised in conjuntion with Ohlins.

 

	Motorsport Anti-Roll Bar

	A stiffer anti roll bar is essential when upgrading dampers. The Motorsport ARB has been designed to complement uprated dampers, and comes complete with upgraded bushes. A direct replacement for Vauxhall VX, Lotus S1, S2, 111R and Exige S2.
	We can also advise on further ARB upgrades for other cars and/or race applications.

	Upgrading the standard wishbone bushes reduces flex and unwanted changes in toe caused by the standard wishbone rubbers. Available for Vauxhall VX, Lotus S1 and S2.
	For track/road use we recommend Poweflex polyurethane bushes. For track-only use we can supply and fit either Nylatron bushes or a fully rose jointed set up.

Method

For our race driver tuition we use a consultative approach. We discuss and agree your goals and then tailor a specific syllabus to achieve those road, track or race objectives in a given amount of time.

Our race driver training sessions are preceded by a theory session, then usually one hour on track, followed by a debrief and review. Using these intensive sessions you will improve rapidly.
